Our Mission

Our research program is devoted to the understanding of the way that early life experiences shape physical and mental health across the lifespan.

Our goal is to provide effective psychotherapy to reduce maternal distress during pregnancy to help both mom and baby. We aim to evaluate how baby’s brain development and well-being are affected by improving mom’s mental health during pregnancy.

Research is conducted by the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical campus and the University of Denver Psychology Department

When I was pregnant with my second child I felt overwhelmed by depression and lost on what to do about it. I've never struggled with depression before and when I talked to people I love about it, I don't think they understood how different and serious this was getting for me. It really was a blessing that I found Care Project. Not only were they incredibly understanding of my situation, they provided all the connections and tools I needed to get through my pregnancy PLUS the research they are doing gave me a purpose. Now that my child is born, it has become something special for him and I to do together and I am confident that the data we are providing as a mama and baby team will be a powerful tool to take care of mamas and babies in the future. Thanks guys, you all have been so wonderful! - Erinn
